July 2023
the second one
the Story continues
This year we had 12 hours of live music across two stages with something for everyone’s musical taste from roots to blues, soul to salsa – a strong line-up of original and experimental musicians, many of whom tour the UK, Europe and beyond. We had a band from the streets of São Paulo, a singer from Chile and our own home-grown headliners, Bare Jams who now live in Bristol but command quite a following around the world.
We had locally brewed craft beer, chilled lager, Pimms or a glass of wine. There was a wood-fired pizza oven, halloumi fries and homemade burgers, an ice cream van and Semley’s famous tea tent.
You could join in a free Tai Chi session, get a glitter tattoo, help construct a giant festive rhino, make a printed flag or chase the ever popular Bubblesman – who returned this year with his fire hoop dancers to charm the children like a benign Pied Piper. There were stalls selling Romanian pottery, handcrafted jewellery, eco-friendly products, essential oils and vintage wear.
